KEY TO MUTANT CLASSES

The mutants are classified according to their salient phenotypic characters. A single mutant may be in several phenotypic classes, for example a mutant with yellow and white variegation will be in classes 2 (white), 3 (yellow), and 7 (variegated). The primary class, indicated by an asterisk, is the most diagnostic feature of the mutant. This classification is provisional; suggestions for improvement are welcome.
