Resistance to cracking.
Frazier, W. A.
The dry summers and wet falls in Western Oregon permit rigorous testing of tomatoes for resistance to cracking. In the 1957 season cracking data on many breeding lines and varieties were secured. Lines were arbitrarily scored on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being most resistant. Readings were made October 13, after two weeks of almost continuous light rain. The most resistant breeding lines or accessions are compared below with a few common varieties.

All of the most resistant lines are included, however, showing that under conditions conducive to extremely severe cracking there were relatively few with high, resistance and none were completely free of cracks.
