Although this virescent mutant (reported in TGC Report No. 6 page 28) is not strictly virescent, since it never develops full green color, its characteristics are so similar to rv it seems best to give it a gene symbol that indicates its likeness to rv. Therefore it is proposed to designate it nv--netted virescent. A small F2 (repulsion) of Wo and nv segregated 105 Wo/+ : 27 Wo/nv : 39 /+ : +/rv. Chi square for linkage falls just short of significance.
ri--ramified inflorescence--characterized by excessively branched inflorescences, pedicels jointless with tendency toward indeterminate growth. Segregated in breeding stock 7 mutants : 20 normals. F1 plants are normal. Pollen appears normal but fruits have been set only after persistant pollination. Relation to s and j is being tested.
