Root knot nematode resistant line.<p>

Preliminary investigations indicate that a tomato breeding line received from
Dr. Gilbert of the Hawaii station under the number Havaii 5229 carries
resistance to four species of root knot nematodes.  The inheritance of
resistance to Meloidogyne incognita has been reported by Gilbert and McGuire.
Inheritance of resistance to the other three species of root knot nematodes to
which this tomato is resistant is being studied.<p>
