RESEARCH REPORTS                                                          TGC REPORT 52, 2002 __________________________________________________________________________________________ polymorphic   primers.   On   bulks,   primer   OPU3   (5’-CTATGCCGAC-3’   with   a molecular weight of 2979 bp) showed polymorphism between bulks. With OPU3 primer, a DNA fragment of 1500 bp (designed OPU3 1500) was amplified and by agarose gel electrophoresis, a well defined band present in the susceptible bulk but not in the resistant bulk was observed (Fig. 1). The OPU3 marker was closely linked with susceptibility to O. lycopersici. Literature cited Lindhout P. and Pet G., 1990. Resistance to Oidium lycopersici in Lycopersicon species.
