A linkage existing between Tm-22 and Frl (Laterrot and Couteaudier TGC Report 1989, 39, 21), we have continued the search for material resistant to Fusarium f. sp. radicis lycopersici (= FORL) among lines carrying Tm-22. We thus studied 7 lines received from the AVRDC (Taiwan). These lines are fixed for Tm-22 linked to ah (Hoffman's anthocyaninless). The rapid resistance test method described by Laterrot and Moretti (TGC Report 1991, 41, 28-30) was used. 3 lines received in 1989 were tested with a FORL isolate from Provence (France) and 4 lines received in 1991 were tested with an isolate from Murcia (Spain). The check samples were Motelle (susceptible) and Momor (resistant). The 7 lines were shown to be resistant. These were:
1) lines received in 1989 (multiplication by INRA 1990) :
CLN 657 BC1 F2 - 285 - 0 - 20 - 0
CLN 657 BC1 F2 - 285 - 0 - 20 - 0 - 24
CLN 475 BC1 F2 - 265 - 4 - 19
2) Lines received in 1991 :
CLN 475 BC1 F2 - 265 - 12 - 9 - 1
CLN 657 BC1 F2 - 267 - 0 - 3 - 1 - 4
CLN 698 BC1 F2 - 358 - 4 - 13
CLN 236 BC1 F2 - 26 - 3 - 3 - 15 = Tropiva 3
It is probable that we have here a "Frl-Tm-22-ah" linkage which could be of
great use to breeders.
