FOREWORD

The Tomato Genetics Cooperative is a group of workers who have a common interest in tomato genetics and who are organized informally for the purpose of exchanging information and germplasm stocks. Participation is voluntary and costs of activities are met by assessments to members. Membership is invited to contribute ideas and suggestions to make this organization more effective and/or expand its role.

Membership in the Tomato Genetics Cooperative as of April 30, 1984 was 420 (an increase of 40 since April 1983), representing 47 countries.

Back issues of previous volumes are available for $3.00 per issue. Payment should accompany requests for back issues to avoid delays in handling. The following back issues remain available: Tomato Genetics Cooperative Reports 14 through 33.

The 1983 annual meeting was held in conjunction with the IVth Tomato Quality Workshop and Tomato Breeders Roundtable. Appreciation was expressed at that time to Dr. C. M. Rick for his invaluable contributions in founding and fostering this organization for its first 32 years.
