The annual open meeting of the TGC was hold at 4 PM, August 29, 1960 in room 202, Classroom Building, Oklahoma State University in conjunction with the AIBS sessions. An unfortunate conflict with a meeting of the ASHS vegetable breeders group limited attendance, but 12 hardy souls turned up and useful business was transacted.
Information concerning membership, finances, and other matters of the TGC was presented by C. M. Rick. In the face of a dwindling balance, the Coordinating Committee proposed an increase in the annual assessment. The attending members signified unanimous support of this change. Dr. L. Butler presented a report of the Linkage Committee. An interim report from the Comittee on Varietal Pedigrees was read, and attending members supplied information about the origin of varieties, which Professor Graham requested to complete pedigrees.
Interesting experiences with crosses of Dwarf Champion were reported by Dr. R. L. Foskett and discussed by members.
